  1. I think you should be able to get if for 2, around here you could anyway.

tri-hull are good stable boats but rough riding.

  2. Take for a test drive for at least 1 hour on a calm day. Then have a marine survey done by a qualified professional surveyor.  The price sounds good but you need to know about the vessel before you buy. Remember "Caveat Emptor".

    BOAT  Bring Out Another THousand.

A hole in the water to pour money.

  3. It sounds a little high in midwest a boat like that is selln for about 1500 and sometimes less it all depends on the buyers needs and the sellers wants and who gets what

  4. Tri-hulls do okay in choppy water, but aren't great at turning - they want to track straight, straight, straight.  They also aren't especially fast, so if you're looking to really light up the water, look elsewhere.

With a 34-year-old hull, what you're really paying all that money for is the motor.  Be extra sure it's in great shape and that all the operating and steering mechanisms are in good condition.  Don't take the seller's word for it though.  Have a boat mechanic you trust give the boat and engine a good going-over.  He's going to charge you for the service but it's worth it - that money could save you a $3000 headache.

  5. It sounds high to me because its a 1974

  6. In a word No!  there are plenty of 15 year newer boats for $1500 Good luck!

  7. Maybe but depend if its in very good condition like if the moter is good the pant isnt coming off or the seats arent ripped

  8. anyone can say it runs great just to sell it. dont say it in these words but its like this, if it runs great let me see it turned on, and say i want to test drive it...he wont just let you up and test drive it lol, just ask him to go with him. but i wouldnt drive down any dirt roads...and by the way that is alright price try to get him down to 2500

  9. Your looking at a 15 yrs old> Best to look for a newer 1>Those Merc parts are hard to find>AND $$$$

  10. This is highly overpriced for a boat like this manufactured in 1974, especially with an outdated Mercrusier sterndrive system.

I highly recommend you search for a boat made by a good manufacturer in the early 1980's or newer.  Boat restoration isn't easy or cheap, neither is fixing old and worn out engines.  I can personally vouch for the high cost of boat restoration.

In short, forget about this boat and look elsewhere unless you feel like sinking possibly $2,000 to $4,000 in repairs or restoration costs in the near future (4 years or earlier).

If you do not have an experienced boater helping you in the boat finding and inspection process, please search yahoo answers or post a question on how to find a good boat and avoid buying a lemon.  Many people here will be more than willing to give you key steps to making a good used boat buying decision.
