Is $325 a good price on a black epiphone bass guitar?

I found one for this price, and I was also wondering if epiphone makes a good guitar.

I've been thinking about Ibanez and Gibson. Which out of the three (including epiphone) is the best?

  1. I think that is a little high especially for an epi bass. Out of ibanez Gibson and Epi well Gibson definently is better than Epi and Ibanez and Gibson i would say ibanez for bass. Ibanez makes some pretty good basses while in my opinion Gibsons only good bass is the Sg bass. But if you want a really good bass gofor the Fender Precision Bass and if you wnat the best bass ever go for the  rickenbacker 4003 its hands down total awesomeness lol but its like 2 grand but anyways I would look up and try some ibanezs and your local guitar store

  2. Epiphone is to Gibson like Squier is to Fender - basically a cheaper version. And Gibson's quality has been declining recently, so I wouldn't go for it.

I can definitely recommend Ibanez though - along with Schecter, they're the best manufacturers of mid-ranged basses.

You can check out their basses here to see if anything catches your eye; the cheapest ones you'll probably find there are the GSR series and their [slightly] more expensive big brothers, the SR series. I have the GSR205, and despite being one of their cheapest basses, it's actually a pretty nice instrument (considering that it only costs $300). The 4 string version of that (the GSR200) is $200.

The most important thing though is to go to a music store and play the basses - finding one YOU think feels and sounds good is what really matters.

  3. Hi JR

Get an Epiphone because if you do not like it, you can always swap. but if you buy a Gibson, you will pay much more and will never get your investment back unless you keep the bass for 15 years and then sell it. Then, it will get value.

I have an old Gibson Les Paul 1963 andv valued at $12,000 to $20,000.

    your choice.

I wouldnt buy Gibson. I would go for Rickenbacher or Fener precision bass or  Scheter . They are cheaper and they, make a good 5 sting bass for around $250 with case.
