I'm day 29 of my cycle and had a blood test on day 28 wich came back positive! I'm pregnant, from IUI. I have to retest at day 32 because my HCG level is 34.7. They say it's a little low. I don't understand why, when anything over 25 is good?!

  1. I am not sure if it is low or not, but i do know that if your levels remain the same or drop, it can indicate a miscarriage.

  2. It's just on the low end of a positive. My 1st beta was 68 and they said that's low, the main thing is that it at least doubles in 48-72hrs after that 1st test. My 1st one was Monday and it was 138 on Wed so just barely doubled. Had to do a 3rd one today to make sure it's still rising...have to wait til Monday for results though : (

  3. I don't think it is. At 3 weeks 4 days mine was 38.4  and if I'm not pregnant then I would sure like to know what all that kick in my stomach is all about ;-)

  4. That is low, but hopefully it doubles everyday by your next test and everything will be good.

  5. That does seem a little bit low, but that does not mean your pregnancy will not be healthy.  Every woman is different and as long as your levels are doubling every day you should be fine.  Some peoples' levels start off really low in the first few weeks and then all of a sudden they start jumping up fast.

  6. The number itself is largely irrelevant it is the increase that is relevant - doubling every 36-48 hours ideally.  However 34.7 is indeed on the low end of the scale for 2 weeks post conception. - do not worry until you have to and wait until the restest on day 32 when they would hope for numbers around 140 at least.
