  1. no California is very expensive. On the low side for that state.

  2. it depends on what city. in SF or LA you have to have roommates and no car to get by, if you live in the country it's a better deal

  3. middle class.

  4. no. that is average on the low side

double and triple that to make it a better salary

  5. It would be OK if you are living with parents, but you are talking very low income in CA.

I can't imagine any job requiring a 4 year degree will pay that low in CA.

If you are talking about each, so 70k a year, yes, you can make it, that is not very good, but you will be OK.

  6. Possibly. Since the average income in California is $30,688.22, this means that a $35,000 salary would be above average.

  7. no

  8. not really.. 60-70 would probably be the decent ones.

  9. no. that isn't a good salary anywhere in America.  i guess you could live off of it but you could make that without going to college.  a good salary has to be at least but in the 75,000s.  i'm not saying that is where you are going to start but that is where you should be in the years ahead of you.

  10. No, it's not.  I fact, you won't be able to come close to making bills on that.

You need to take that figure and DOUBLE it.

  11. not really, if you think about everything you spend each month.

  12. Not especially, although there are a LOT of people who make a LOT less and get by. It's mediocre, not great.

  13. it really depends on what part of california and how well off you want to live. my family consist of me, my husband, and our 1 year old daughter. we are able to live fairly well from his income, and we do have a car payment which is $400. his salary is $34,000 a year.

avoid very dense populated cities(basically southern california). the rent is outrageous. your best bet in being able to live in california financially would be central california. heres an example of rent differences in california - we were renting a house that had 1400sq ft. for $900 in visalia(we had a roommate). my brother in law was renting an apartment for 1000 sq ft in a less well off neighborhood for $1100 in san diego. we moved from visalia to sacramento and had to move into a townhouse($775) since houses to rent are over $1000.
