I have been looking for a job in the area I live in for the past 6 months. It is very hard to get a job that pays anything in the town I live in. I finally found a job in another town but it is 35 miles from my house. The job starts out at $12 hour. In some ways I want to take it because I'm fed up with trying to find a job in the area where I live but in some ways I wonder if I should keep looking since gas prices are so high right now. Do you think this is too far to drive for $12 hour?

  1. You need the job,   you take it.

Then,    carpool if possible.    Work as many hours a day as you can,   for instance  working 4 12 hour shifts will save a trip in and get you 8 hours OT.

Watch your driving habits to increase fuel mileage.

    Keep your vehicle maintained.

  2. I drive 35 miles each way, but I definitely would not do it for $12 an hour. It depends on how bad you need hte job and what other jobs are paying in your area.

  3. That's not worth it.  Driving 70 miles a day is going to cost you around $30 in gas, wear and tear on your car, etc.  (Rule of thumb is 45 cents a mile.)   Look into public transportation or move closer to where you work.

  4. why cant you get the job first and then try to move to the nearest place possible.. or check with any car pool or any public transportaion so that you can minimize the gasoline

  5. Work it out how much petrol will cost, them once you take that from the money earnt will you have enough money left for what you need it for?

  6. for 12 an hour fo sho
