As in praying is asking someone to gift you something when you should really be getting itself yourself, and if you cannot get it then it is unattainable anyway.

  1. Yes begging from no one!

  2. Ive always been told, Don't pray for anything but mercy.  So, yeah, Its begging.

  3. asking for help from people you know and love and they know and love you is not begging. thats asking for help when you cant do it alone.

  4. Christians pray for the needs of others, for those who are ill, for peace in the world, and many other thing.  We think of Christ first, and self last. Therefore, the answer to your question is No.

  5. no

God tells his followers to pray.

  6. Prayer is for having HIS will be done. Not yours.

  7. For me, prayer is about communicating....not just asking, but for expressing gratitude.  And when I DO ask, I will ask what I should do in certain situations, which choice should I make, etc.  I also ask for God to help someone else, but I rarely ask Him to give ME anything.  He's already blessed my life more than enough.

  8. I'd say it all depends on what you pray for.

  9. Worse than begging, it's more selfish when you pray fro trivial things in your life, in my opinion.

If god really knew you, he would already know what you wanted, and I think rather than taking up his time praying to find your cell phone that you lost, you should let him do things for starving, war torn, and bad areas in the world.

That's assuming god is real though.

  10. Who "gifted me" today?

Who "gifted me" this wonderful life?

It wasn't me and it wasn't you.

So if I want to thank the good Lord for this day, this life and all the prosperity I enjoy, then why not? Where's the "begging?"

Our God is an awesome God!

    God love you!

  11. sometimes. but I think God is pretty understanding...

  12. No, real prayer is not begging. When we beg we do not believe Father wants us to receive His Blessing. Faith in God and His Word releases the Blessings that Jesus gave us on the cross.

Prayer is communication with God and being in agreement with Him and His Word for the blessing He already wants to give us. We pray the Word to God. Jer. 1:12 says God watches over His Word to perform it and Is. 55:11 says His Word will not return to Him void, but will accomplish what it is sent to do. Knowing this, we can pray what the Word says about a situation - seeing things and calling things the way Father sees them - and expect God-kind results. We are then looking at people, problems, and situations the way He sees them - already solved by His Word when that Word hung on the cross as our substitute.

According to the Word of God I Am: A new creation; An heir of God; A joint-heir with Jesus; One with the Word; The righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; In perfect health; Blessed with every spiritual blessing. Praying and believing the Word brings results.

  13. no..god wont give you the things that you dont deserve but if you are faithful he will help you through your troubles

  14. No, prayer has many elements. You praise God, you thank him. You ask for things, and really just talk to God. Sometimes when people pray they ask for guidance. Prayer is more of a conversation with God rather than begging.

  15. I guess it sort of depends on what you are praying for and how you are praying.  If your prayer is just one of many things you are doing to obtain this thing in your life, then it isn't begging.  If you are asking for something, such as wanting a person to get well, or heal, etc., that you have no personal control over, again it is not begging.  Positive thoughts sent out to God or the Universe create positive things in return.  If you do more than just ask and follow the old adage of 'God helps those who help themselves' then you are not begging.

  16. In what context. This is definably a component. People thank God for awards, and pray to win the lottery. But I was taught that one can only pray for clarity and strength to help themselves. It isn't a cosmic cash machine.

  17. You don't simply ask for things in prayer, you acknowledge that you NEED God, and that He created everything.  THe Lord's prayer was given to us as an example of prayer, part of which is simply praising God for who He is.

  18. Prayer is communicatiopn between you and God. You could beg,m cry, talk, yell at God....and it's still considered prayer.

  19. no its talking with God and asking for help along with praise etc....weve had great rains for 3 days which we needed so much!

He can pull strings for those who are born again and Make things happen!
