Is 4.1 a good GPA for an 8th grader?

Is an average 4.1 (out of 4.5) gpa good for an 8th grade? That was my GPA for 8th grade, and would that be a good GPA in general for high school, to get into a good college?

Like, if that was my cumalative GPA in 12th grade, would I be able to get into a very good school? Could you name some schools which would take students with a 4.1 GPA, assuming they have extracurriculars, sports, etc . . .

As in Princeton, Carnegie Melon. My grades should be better this year, there was an 8th grade class which I hated and didn't get at all.

oK, I know I'm not going to Princeton. But an example with the name of a college would give me a better idea.

  1. i thought it only went up to 4.0.

  2. I wasn't aware that Grade Point Averages go beyond a 4.0. I worked my as$ of to maintain a flawless G.P.A. - I am pretty sure that it doesn't go beyond a 4.0. Unless things are different these days... I graduated in NY fall of 2005.

  3. 4.1 / 4.5 = 3.64 /4 which is really average for HS but good if you are in college.  If you do well on your PSAT's I'd do a precollege program and start doing extra classes at community college.
