  1. That is a good time.  If you want to get an idea of how fast it is compare to 40 yd times that football players are always talking about.  You are going about 15 extra yards.  This would compare to a low 4 sec time.  Think about the NFL combine where typically the fastest time is 4.2.

Better would be if you can get an electronic time.  Handheld times are typically off by about .2 seconds on average even if they stopped at the same time.  Things like, where were the people standing, etc, factor into this.  In this case, your time is good. Now you need to look at factors like age, etc.

    Good job!

  2. yeah that is pretty fast

  3. wow yea that is pretty fast... considering asafa powell runs 100 in 9.98 or something . if you can run 50 in 5 secs your going only a bit slower than him. Seeing as the last 50 is usually slower than the first 1, depending on your fatigue abilities your probably looking at running a 12ish 100.,

  4. Pretty good. Thats about 10m a second.

  5. Electronic timing would have been 5.14, which is very fast for a 50.

If you are trying to see what your 100 time would be from your 50 time, remember that the first 50 is much slower than the second 50.

Most hand times are not accurate, because the timers start their watches when the person moves rather than on the gun, if there is a gun.

Even if the timers are experienced their time is much faster than automatic time, because the reflex to start the watch takes at least .24 seconds.
