I just turned 17 the beginning of July. I've been homeschooled since Kindergarten, and dual-enrolling at the community college since 10th grade. This summer I am finishing all of my high school credits, and for my Sr. year, i will just be taking college classes. i registered this morning for 4 classes: College Algebra, Intro to Psychology, Intro to Philosphy, and Humanities in the Middle Ages. The last 2 classes is the same professor and I've had him before (very easy, you show up, and you get an A. even the kids that don't show up get an A). but also, i will have softball 3 nights a week, and be babysitting the other 2 nights, 2 mornings a week i will be cleaning house for the lady i babysit (this is all my only source of income) for - i also mow their grass, not to mention i help teach a pre-school class sunday mornings, and i attend church every sunday and wednesday.and am involved with all schedules ativities in my youth group, throw in family and friends.do you think its too much?

  1. That's 12 hours, correct?  That shouldn't be too bad.  If it gets to be too much once you start it, just withdraw from one class before the withdrawal deadline.   The work load is going to be dependent on each class and the instructor.

I was very busy in high school and college (typically 16 hrs/semester), and it worked out great!

  2. i think you'll be fine. just make sure you know what your priorities are and adjust accordingly. good luck

  3. You have to try it out first. Try and balance it. If you feel its to much try to let go one thing at a time remember that you need some sleep to complete these activities!

  4. That is a very busy schedule, but, I think you will be OK - you are already familiar with college level course work.

From time to time, you may have to choose between study and other activities.

  5. i think u really might be bitting off more than u can chew.... its awesome that u r wanting to get everything done but u will be under so much stress if u continue like this its good that u r so responsible and im really proud of u even tho i dont know u all i can say is good luck and more power to u if u do all this w/o dropping ne thing :]

  6. sounds like a lot, but its good to stay busy.

you don't get in as much trouble.

  7. Only you can say. If it gets to be too much you can always drop some of the charity work. Doing the youth group activities and teaching sunday school is cute but not worth making yourself ill over.

  8. When I started college at age 18 I was taking 20 credit hours (6 classes), being a music major meant I had to practice a minimum of 4 hours a day, my school is a thirty minute drive away, and I worked part time as a manager at Express.  No, I do not think your schedule it too full.  However, if you have never been this busy it may take some getting used too.  I was always busy so the transition into college was no big deal.  But if you need more sleep than some people, or you just can't handle the stress, then obviously you will need to drop a class or maybe cut back on something else.  I have found sleep to be the most important key to successfully stay busy.  If I don't get enough sleep there is no way I can handle everything.  So get your sleep!  And stick to a sleep schedule.  It makes a world of difference.

  9. no not at all....college athletes take 4 courses and have obligations 6 days a week and some of them even have part time jobs

  10. Everyone is different in how they handle responibilities and organization skills.

If you are used to organizing your life and mulit-task well then you can prob. handle it, but if you like down time and want to go at a slower pace it might be too much to handle. College is much different than high school, but those are not really really hard classes so maybe you can - i mean you can always drop a class if it becomes too difficult and get your money back.
