  1. 4oz is great (especially at 1 month). Don't worry about how long it takes at this stage (10 mins or 30 mins).  Obviously if your b*****s are gorging, you can pump 4oz much faster.  Also, milk supply is tied to demand (more you pump/feed, more faster the milk will re-supply), so quantity (and speed) will increase as the baby feeds more.

  2. Hello

For a one month old infant this is quite good. Your body will only produce enough to meet your childs needs.

I do belive its 2-2.5 ounces per pound of body weight per 24 hours. It is very time consuming. But remember this is the absolute best nutrition for your baby.

Sometimes you may pump less and since this is your first time you may pump more your second time. Your breast are used to your baby suckling them so getting used to a pump may sometimes cause your let down to be less stong  (because if its not perfect you brain says this is not right do not release the milk).

Good luck and if you need futher advise go to the link i have enclosed

  3. It depends on how old your baby is; the older the baby gets, the more milk you should be pumping at each session ..

(because milk is produced on a Supply & Demand basis, the more the baby is demanding, the more is produced.)

As your baby starts eating more, your body will produce more milk per sitting.

    Edit to Add:

    1 month old, yup! You're doing great! That's a perfect amount! =]

  4. It depends greatly on how often you're pumping. I would consider that to be low though. If you pump every 3 hours or so, you should get 4 oz within 10-15 minutes manually pumped.
