Is $40,000 a year a good job?

depending on what the possition is.   That is about $19 an hour so yeah.. depending on what it is... thats pretty decent

As long as you don't live in Chicago that is a decent wage.

There's more to a "good" job then annual income.

Rating it solely on income though, and for your age, I'd say that if you had no post secondary education (College or University) or you were lacking any experience in your field for whatever reason (you should have at least 5+ years by now), it would be a "good" job...

If you have a post secondary education and 5+ years of experience, you are being underpaid for your skills.
