  1. No it happens.

Before she decides to have a child, she should go to the doctor to get tests done to make sure she is healthy. The older you are, the higher chance your baby will have a birth defect BUT it doesn't happen all the time.

    Try herbs:

  2. I am 26, and my BF has just recently turned 40! We aren't really TTC at this point, but if it ever happened, he said he'd be overjoyed :)

40 is not too old... sometimes life really begins at 40!

The only thing would be about the risks, as mentioned above by others. Not so sure how it affects the male, but it's riskier for women, the older they get.

  3. I agree w/ the person above me. It's not too old but there are additional risks. But she can also have a healthy uneventful pregnancy. good luck!

  4. No its not too old. But since you are both older (over 35) it may be harder to conceive. Doctors say 35 and over chances decrease. As long as both of you are in good health and can take care of a child at an older age, I say go for it! I think you will make wonderful parents! If you have a hard time conceiving, ask the doctor about fertility treatments. Good Luck!

  5. Absolutely not, that sounds like a perfect time to have a child.

  6. it's not too old. But there are additional risks. Talk to your doc so you understand the additional risks. And if you decide it is the right time for you and your wife then good luck! and congratulations ;)
