  1. more than likely yes it will be fine, i've got 9 games on a 60GB console and i download loads of the PSN (demos, full games and videos) and i've still got 15GB left on my HDD so for now 40GB is enough.  It's once you start adding music, picture, videos, to your HDD you'll begin to run out of space.

  2. that is plenty

  3. if you plan on getting the 40gb in a store, then don't buy it. an new 80 gb model is coming out (actually i believe its already out) for the same price as the 40 gb ($400).

but for any reason you wont get the new 80 gb model. i wouldn't be to conserned about it. if you run out of room you can always replace the ps3's harddrive with a bigger one.

  4. There is no 40gb anymore, its been replaced by another 80gig model.

The new 80gig will be identical to the 40gb except it will have a larger hard drive and it will be $400 US

  5. Yes it will be, 1MB(megabyte)=1000KB,1GB(gigabyte)=1000M... so basically you have 40000 megabytes, or 40000000 kilobytes

  6. No it isn't. I have a 60gb ps3 and i upgraded my HDD to a 160gb. All you have to do is go to your local pc store Walmart Fry's Best Buy. Take your HDD from your ps3 and tell them that you want a bigger one. I got my 160gb for 70 bucks! If you want to play more demos and download movies for the playstation network go on and upgrade your HDD it is easy and simple. if you have anymore questions just email me

  7. nope not ever the 40gb will not play them games you have there

you will need the ps3 80gb to play any of them games you have down but on november 16 2008 ps3 160 gb w/dualshock controller and is backwards compatible  for $499.99     :)ava06

  8. yea but get

    a 80gb to play your ps2 and ps1

  9. More than enough for games, you can always upgrade at a later date or just buy the 80gb PS3 and not have to worry, its your choice, but like i said it will be more than enough, unless you plan on putting tons of videos and music on it, even then you will struggle to fill it up completely

  10. yes

  11. I dont think you understand just how much memory 40GB is...yes thats enough

  12. I Dont Know I have A 80gb

  13. no i already used it up so i upgraded it to 320GB for an extra $50. upgrade it.

  14. yes but games like gta and mga are gonna take ALOT of space because you have t donload something on the disk.with all them games, you will have about 33g out of 40g left

  15. 40gb is alot of space but it depends how much games you buy the harddrive would fill it up fast if you store alot of music and dl and buy some movies and shows on the ps3 then yes the 40 gb will not be enough but if u just use the ps3 to play ps3 games and have some demos on it then it should be fine 40 gb is alot compared to the ps2's mb

  16. Yes it is definitely enough for the games, apart from the 6GB of MGS4 hard drive space is generally taken up by Demos, Movies and Music.

If you intend on storing a lot of these then you should upgrade.

You can get a new internal hardrive (250GB) for around 50-60pounds.

  17. yeah should be enough, the biggest space eater of that lot is MGS4 at about 6GB+, but thats unualsaully high, though GT5 n GTAIV come in aat about 4GB each.

Far cry isnt out yet, so dunno what the install is for that.

ive got 8 games n the installs fit fine on my PS3 and a decent music library n a few traielrs n demos.

though I'm expecting to upgrade the HDD at some point, im nto jsut going ot have 8 games :P n with PlaytV n  the video store i expect to fill up a bit even more.
