  1. I know a private instructor who charges $45 an hour for private lessons with a minimum of two hours.  He says that one hour isn't enough because there isn't that much skiing because of the lift, even though it is a high speed lift.

At the mountain i ski at, which is where he skis, they charge $80  for a 1 hour private lesson, and $32 for a 1 hr 45 min group lesson.

  2. Yeah, its a good deal.

  3. hmm..not sure.....because in mammoth mountain, i could have 6 hours for $90

  4. In Canada there are good family ski hills ie:  Harper

Mountain in Kamloops BC where a price less than that got you equipment, ski pass, lesson, and lunch.  Can you beat that?????????????

  5. Ski instructors are usually paid a salary by the resort.

It sounds like a good deal to me...especially if it includes a lift ticket or rental.

You should use the Internet to research what each resort charges and what it includes.

  6. thAT is a good deal i tried to get one for my boyfriend this year and they wanted 100 not including the ticket. this is at beaver creek and vail colorado and i am sure that breckenridge and keystone would have been the same considering they are owned by the same company. anyhow that is a good deal. i once almost was an instructor and tehy wanted to pay me like 10 dollars an hour i think that they also offered like a few more per person in the group and people usually tip you. i did not take the job cause it would not be enough money to live on in the mountians. where are you going that it is so cheap?

  8. For a good instructor that is a very good price. Where I teach the rate is $70/ hour resort takes $55 or more/ hour. Plus you still need a lift ticket.

  9. where I live privates are close to $100 per hr. The instructors get only about $40 uless they were speciffically requested to teach that lesson which bumps up the pay to more like $60 for the instructor. I used to (1975) teach specialty privates  (moguls, jumping) while not affiliated with a resort program and charged $50 but would give 60 min of ski time no lift time incuded. so ,yeah, thats a good deal in the us
