  1. Most police academy go by set a weight to height system and as long as you pass the physical training and tactics on fighting you will be ok. They wouldn't release you from the academy if your were a liability to yourself or others train hard take it serious you will be fine. Good Luck

  2. haha.. big C. well i am a girl and if you pull me over in my big red, four door, 2006 f-250 i would really have to look down to you and i am 5'7"  .. haha and i have a magnet my boyfriend put on back of the truck that says, "Sorry Officer, I thought you wanted to race."  haha.. beat that one, buddy...

  3. Having a minimum height requirement would be discrimination. As long as you pass the physical agility test, and meet the other requirements, you will be fine.

  4. Not at all..I am 5'-7" 180lbs...and I have not had any issues thus far..i would say training...continue training..and you must have the confidence in yourself that you will completely decimate and destroy anyone who steps up to the plate...as a PO you must keep 2 things in mind...1- ALWAYS, EVERYDAY...go home when shift is done...and do WHATEVER that takes..remember..you can always find another job...but you get one chance at life...dont let some piece of sh** take it from you...2- NEVER forget to drop your overtime slip..LOL...and thats it!!!! those 2 rules are the most important..

    good luck

  5. Not at all. As a matter of fact, discrimination, in any form, is unconstitutional.  However, some law enforcement positions require that certain duties be carried out successfully, which might require certain height and strength limits.  Failing to meet those requirements, you may be offered a position elsewhere in the law enforcement community.  This is a good question to ask a recruiter.

  6. Its more about following through with the training and stuff then it is about size.  Just carry a larger weapon..lol

  7. there is a corrections officer here in rockhill sc named tuff tanner ,he is about 5 ' 3 and 160 lbs solid and he is the one that they send in to people who is being disorderly to either shut them up or put them to sleep

  8. NO THAT'S ACTUALLY TALL COMPARE TO WAT I SEEN OUT THERE.THAT'S MY HEIGHT AND EVERY 1 CONSIDERS ME TALL SO YOU AS A  MALE IS A AVERAGE.

  9. Dude as long as you have the right training, a keen sense of self preservation, and a big, honking gun- you ought to be fine.

  10. no way dude, im only 5"6 myself

  11. I am 5'2" and work at the hospital. One of our corrections patients we had one time had a female officer guard staying with them and that guard was at least 3-4 inches shorter than me and looked like she weighed about 90 lbs. soaking wet! She is a guard at the prison and they have to take turns staying with inmates when they are hospitalized. Ever heard the saying "dynamite comes in small packages"? Never underestimate yourself or your abilities, just keep in shape, act tough, and don't let down your guard!
