  1. Yes. Blood tests are very reliable starting around 11dpo, but at 9dpo (that's 5 days before your period is due) there's still a chance that you'll get a false negative. Remember that most implantation occurs between 8-10dpo, so even if you're pregnant, the egg might not have embedded, which is the process which starts hCG hormone production. That's what the blood test is looking for.
