Is 5 dolars an average tip?

me and my two friends went to bertuchies or however you spell it we got a large pizza and drinks the bill came to $22.09 and i gave a 5 dolar tip is that cheap anverage or good..??

That was a good tip (more than 20%). An 18% tip is customary in the US.

Average is 15-20 percent of the total before tax...

on 22.00.. 20% would be 4.40 so 5.00 would be about right

yes that is a good tip,but if the waitress was crappy and didn't do her job then it was way to good of a tip.everyone for some reason tips waitresses according to percentage.i myself tip on the Quality of the waitress if she is nice and happy,how good she is taking the order and getting thing right.taking care of us while we are eating(things we need or ask for),not forgetting stuff etc. etc.if my bill was only 10 or 15 dollars and the waitress was excellent she would get 5 to 10 for a tip.there has been times Ive left 20.00 tips.so to me it is how the waitress performs her job not percentage,but anyway yes again your tip was good

15-20% of the bill is the percentage you should tip.  Your bill was 22.09 so $5.00 is perfect.

5 dollar tip for $22 meal is pretty good.

tips range from 15%-20% or higher depending on the service.

but can be low as 0 if you truly feel the service was c**p.

And people have to understand, tip is not required.

The waiter or waitress have to earn their tip.

I HATE those waiter/waitress who thinks they can just give you "average" service and expect a nice tip.
