Is 60 watts enough for ambient music?

I am setting up a sound system in a hair salon with 4, 60 watts speakers. Is this enough for ambient music, nothing too loud?

yes 60W RMS is plenty.

Hi basegian:I will answer you this way.In a Church, about 40' x 40' was a Monural 60 watt amplifier. It drove 2 speaker columns with 4 speakers each.Even with musicals you could not run more than about 15 watts or you start to rattle the walls. With what you propose, you will not only make their hair stand up but probably anything not secured. Please take time to read up on Amplifiers, speakers, DB levels & accoustics. GOOD LUCK.  exbelltel
