I am trying to book a vacation for my boyfriend and myself. We have Nov 8th through Nov 15th for vacation. I want to go somewhere warm b/c we are from Michigan. Is Florida the best option as far as cost? If not do you guys have any ideas? If Florida is the best option which city would be the best to visit? Please keep in mind budget is definitely a factor here. We've been together for 4 years and this is our first vacation. Sadly $600 for the flight and hotel is pushing it for us. I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

  1. thats for a round trip flight for 2 people and a hotel?

    my gosh thats amazingly cheap!

i'm going to orlando in december and the cheapest round trip flight i or AAA could find was $573 and thats just for one person. mind you it is just after christmas but still my parents just took a plane to reno and it cost them $300 per person so really you price is super cheap.

personally i'd go to orlando for disney and universal but if you don't have a big enough budget i'd go to st. augustine. its really nice and the oldest city in the united states.

you can stay right on the beach and swim and there are trolley ride tours around the historic sites of the city. and many things to stop off and do such as a wine tasting or view the fountain of youth which is all included in your ticket.

but i am a bit confused. if you are booking a flight and hotel then you must know what city you are staying in. right? so i just don't get why you are asking what city you should stay in.

and won't you have to rent a car? perhaps it would be more affordable to drive cuz if you fly unless you are staying in the city you fly to and ride the buses i don't see how it will work without renting a car.

  2. Something about the cost of only $600 doesnt sound right.  Do you have to give a credit card # to hold a reservation?  Dont ever give your credit card # to anyone that calls you.

$600 for flight & airfare seems too low.  Is this part of a time share presentation?  Thats where sales people try to sell you yearly vacations at their condo or villas.  You must attend a 1/2 day sales pitch too.

Please~~ Go to tripadvisor.com and then go to Florida & check out the city you want to visit.

    Orlando for example.

Then check out the Hotel Listings & read more reviews about the motel you may stay at.

Then go to Forums for Orlando too & ask questions or read the answers to see if anyone has any suggestions.  Trip Advisor is a very good website for planning vacations.

I hope you can find some helpful answers.

Don't forget that whatever city you decide to visit you may need to include $$$ for car rental.  OR find a city that has a shuttle or bus to Hotel & then from Hotel to beach or the city.  Thats where Trip Advisor can help you too.

P.S.  We are going to WDW the week of T'Giving & I cant wait!!

Orlando is usually cool in evenings 50's & 70s for daytime.  But that is just an average~~ it can get colder or warmer & rain.

  3. That seems exceptionally reasonable..  Airfare alone from Philly is around $400 right now. Please check into where they might be putting you at those prices.

And make sure you have the budget for park tickets, etc...
