I am pumping 7% sulfuric acid to my ETP. It is a long line but the problem I am facing is air lock. I am wondering if the sulfuric acid is decomposing the metal and liberating hydrogen gas. Is there a way to capture this gas and test ina lab? Thanks in advance

  1. 7% sulfuric acid is definitely corrosive. 98% sulfuric acid is the standard solution produced by sulfuric acid plants because it is the least corrosive concentration of H2SO4.

  2. You are using the wrong pump. Pick a pump to pump sulfuric acid and you will eliminate corrosion.
