Is 707 a good credit score?

Ihave a credit card I have been using for small things since Feb. and out of curiosity I looked my credit score up @ freecreditreport.com and it's 707...

A 707 is a good credit score and you should have no problem getting financing, etc, solely based on your score. Your goal should be to keep your score above a 700.

This is a good score ... but not exactly fantastic.  Anything over 700 can be considered to be good to very good credit and will be enough to help you get the best possible terms on a loan.

The lowest possible score is 350 and the highest possible score is 850.   Analysts report that getting about 825 is nearly impossible .... so an 825 is really about the best anyone can expect.   A score of 707 is respectable and means you have a good history of handling credit ... but ... probably had a few minor issues ... like 1 late payment ... or borrowing a bit too much money ... but as I said it won't pose any problems for you.

In contrast .. an "excellent" score is anything above about  750 - 760.   If you have a score in the upper 700s or low 800s ... that is fantastic or "excellent".   But ... keep up the good work ... your score is well above most people in the country.

FOLLOW-UP:  Oh ...and don't waste your money on "free" credit report.com.   It isn't "really" free most of the time and sometimes gets you hooked up with pay as you go services.  The federal government passed a law that allows you to get a TRULY FREE copy of your credit report from ALL THREE credit bureaus once every year.   Go to www.annualcreditreport.com to get these free reports.
