  1. For me, yes...I think it is a little too much.

By searching, you can find out a new GI for 500USD.

  2. Check here for current selling prices and Values for your Springfield..>> gunsamerica.com, auctionarms.com, icollector.com...

  3. I think it is a little high.  You don't say what you want the pistol for so I can suggest a range. Collecting: Colt with military markings $500- skies the limit.

    Carry. Kimber ultra, used $450 to 900.Springfield V10 $650-$900. Warthog, $400-$850. Micro $500-$1,000.

Hunting, forget the 1911.  Go to a wheel gun or single shot in at least 45 long colt.

Kimber is the first choice because of all that is done to them at the factory. It is jazzed from the start.

The little V10 is a good one because of the ported barrel, cuts down on recoil.

Be sure you have any used firearm checked by a good gunsmith before firing.

    Good luck

  4. You should find a copy of the Blue Book of Gun Values and check the prices.  Your local library might have a copy or any large book retailer.

You'll need to know the model number to get a price check.

You might also go the www.Gunbroker.com and check the prices there.
