I don't need any other work on my teeth other than the 4 unit bridge. I still think that even with overhead costs its too much.

  1. i'm from australia, but a 4 unit bridge is generally around $4000 - $5000 so yeah it is too much....i would go and get a second opinion from another dentist

  2. I think it really depends on what else is involved in the bridge.  Since it is a bridge I'm assuming there are only 3 actual teeth, and one will be a pontic.  I'm in CT and that's about 1000 per unit.  so for JUST a 4 unit bridge it would be about 4000.  But there may be other things involved such as root canals.  Sometimes teeth need root canals because of infection, other times because of trauma.  Root canals also run about 1000 a piece for molars, 800 for premolars and 700 for anterior teeth.  After a root canal there is also a permanent filling that needs to be placed (called a build up or a post and core), which is about 250 per root canal tooth.  So if you needed root canals, post and cores, and the bridge that may be the correct price.

** If it is JUST the bridge that does seem expensive.  Maybe the pricing is different over there since I'm in Connecticut.  You should get a second opinion, if you have insurance make sure you go to some one who does participate with your carrier and if you do not have insurance you should call a few other offices because the prices do vary from office to office.

  3. not too much if it last long enough.
