I am going into 7th grade and my sister is going into 8th grade. We have been homeschooled for two years and this is our first year going back to "regular" school. Lots of people at my old school hated me and my sister (well that's what are friend's told us). Is 7th and 8th grade hard and scary? Please describe each grade seperate.

  1. I can't describe them separately and I wouldn't think of them separately. If it's going to be scary, it will only be because of you and your sister not being used to the regular school environment, not for any other reason. Just try to be nice and make friends, don't worry about anything else.

  2. compared to high school.... no.

there isnt much of a difference between 7th and 8th grade. you pretty much take the same type of classes. and it varies from school to school.

just be confident, have fun, and pay attention in class. you should do fine.

good luck :)   -dont stress out about it. it isnt that bad.

  3. Not at all academically. Then again, I am an honors student. It's not that bad so long as you are not going to a Choice or Charter school. However, you will want to brace yourself for all of the judgement, drama, stupidity, and rudeness.

  4. 7th and 8th grade has the most drama u will ever have. if people hate u its not goin 2 be every one. some people might but never everyone

u will find people you fit in with so dont worry. just stay out of drama and dont be afraid to be soicl

  5. Trying to negotiate the nastiness of the social system isn't particularly pleasant, but academically you won't have a problem. I was still doing maths in year 8 that I'd been taught in grade 5.

  6. Don't be scared.  It just seems scary because you've been homeschooled and haven't been in the public school setting.  I am all grown now with children going into junior high.  The work in 7th grade wasn't hard for me.  8th grade was a little more challenging because it prepares you for high school.  Academically it isn't too hard.  I find that getting along with others and having to deal with peer pressure is what is difficult.  I'm sure you will do fine.  Don't worry if everyone doesn't like you.   Not everyone is going to like everyone.  I'm sure there are people that you don't like.  Don't dwell on it.  Focus on people who you do like and who will be your friends.  Junior high can be a lot of fun.  It is what you make of it.  Be confident and be true to yourselves.  Don't change for anyone.  Be your own person.
