Is 80% a overall good average?

i go to school in jamaica and there are some students that have gotten a 97%average so i was wondering if a 80%average could be classified as a good average,

It is "good"; it's not "great."  It all depends on what college you want to go to (if you're in high school).

A C is said to be average (OK), a B is above average (good) and an A is excellent.  Often a B is anything between 80-89 and if in your case an 80 is a B then yes you have a good average.

But really in the grand scheme of things, it depends on your goals, if you are in high school or college, who you are being compared to and other circumstances.
