Question:

Is 800 calories a day bad? ?

I'm 4'11 and I eat around 1500 calories a day and hoop dance/workout alot but I guess im eating to much cuz I now weigh 125 which is too much for someone only 4'11 so If I go down to 800 will it be ok I dont want to be unhealthy............

  1. Good for you for caring about your health.  800 calories is way too low.  You'll mess up your metabolism and slow your weight loss.  The lowest you should go is 1200 and even that's a little low.  If you're currently eating 1500 calories each day and you cut back by 500 calories AND burned an extra 500 through exercise, you could lose 2 pounds each week!


  2. im personally 20 lbs underweight, so i think your weight is alright. im 4'6 - a tiny gal. 800 might be a little too much...think about 1000. :)

    oh, and go swimming. 1 year of swimming for me reduced allllllllll my fat. Im just bony and muscle-y.  

  3. Its not good to do that every day, try 1200 first and keep working out. The weight will come off.

  4. it depends on what kind of calories you're eating a day. stay away from calories from fat and you'll be good to go. But going down to 800 temporarily to lose weight is good, but then go back up after you've lost the weight.  

  5. Hmmm it could be a lil' low we can take a max of 2000 or 2500 or something. So maybe that's a lil low. Can make you ill. Your weight sounds fine. Eat all you want.  

  6. it would be unhealthy. weighing 125 could be all muscle.
