  1. 5150 is actually a beginer board. If you are better than a beginer, then you want to go up to brands like Burton, Forum, Rome, or GNU.

And the step on spikes are really just stomp pads. They dont make the board better. They just give you a place to put your foot on when getting off the lift.

  2. 5150 isnt really that good of a brand

  3. 5150 is just a "mid" brand of board - they are OK for a beginner but won't hold up to much abuse. I've taught a lot of kids on these boards and I've seen a few get splits and cracks. If you got a good deal on it and don't plan on pounding the rails in the park you should be OK for a couple of years.

You should get better bindings though - the cheap ones with plastic buckles are not worth buying. Spend a little more and get some Ride EX Bindings that will last through this board and the next - check this deal at 50% off:

Those spikes work OK, but if they are small there isn't a lot of adhesive to hold them. Make sure your board is cleaned w/ alcohol and is warm when you apply them for maximum stick.

    Good Luck
