Is A Brand New HD-DVD Player Worth $30?

i have a 1080p tv and a Blu-Ray Player.

wow, $30 sounds like a steel

but since you already have a blu-ray player, i don't really understand why you would need an HD-DVD player since they've stopped producing movies for this format, and blu-ray will give you movies in 1080p...

so i would say no

spend it somewhere else or just save it

yes it is definitely worth $30. it upconverts dvds, aka it makes them look better on hdtvs, and of course plays hd movies. even though it is worth $30, dont buy it. blu-ray players also upoconvert dvds and play blu-ray discs, and you already have one so dont buy it. In other words its worth it for someone who has an hdtv, has many dvds, but doesnt want to invest in a blu-ray plater.

Nope HD-DVD is dead there are no more movies made for HD DVD as of April 2008.  It would be pointless in buying this product that no companies support.   Blu-Ray won the high definition DVD format.
