Is AAA worth it?

I have a couple of trips planned, and I am thinking about getting AAA mainly for the hotel discounts. It is $89 for the basic membership. I have roadside assistance through Toyota already, so I am just wondering if people think it is worth it for the discounts alone?

I don't know.  You can look at the hotels you plan to stay at and see if the discount would make up the $89.  But I don't know if it would.  They also give you free travel information, and sometimes you can get discounts on attractions, so you may need to factor that in too.

I enjoy AAA, but mainly for the roadside assistance.  I also like their maps and travel books.  If you have not seen one of their travel guides, I suggest that you get one for the area that you  are visiting.  My wife and I love to eat at some of the not chain restaurants that they recommend.  

For you, I guess it depends on how many times that you plan on traveling....you save some, but not a lot.
