  1. Electric utilities produce about 1/3 of all manmade CO2 emissions, and AC accounts for a substantial portion of that.  AC is a substantial contributer, although automotive emmissions produce even more greenhouse gases.  So  our cars should get "credit" as being the main factor.

  2. No of course not!   The thousands of Global Warmings that have gone by in our past history didn't have a single air conditioner as the cause!

  3. It is a large cause, but cars are the main factor, we think. It is hard to decipher what is the main cause, we only know that yes, global warming is happening. I think that the causes change, season to season, generation to generation as well.

  4. No.........................................

  5. America's contribution to Global warming is our carbon emission from our factories and diesal trucks.

  6. Actually the main factor is our electronics:  PDA's, cell phones, television, computers, gaming, etc.  These things consume more fossil fuel and account for more CO2 and other greenhouse gases than the entire airline industry worldwide, did you know that?

  7. No the sun is!

  8. No, alternating current has nothing to do with it.

  9. Oh yea, that's a good one...  Air conditioning systems do put out FAR MORE heat than CO2 ever has.  That's a good one...  Seems like Gore may be underpaying his carbon footprint tax with all of his houses, mansions, cars and planes in the South.  That's another good source of global warming.

Another good one would be roads, since asphalt absorbs far more heat than CO2 has or could ever absorb.  Ever lay on texas asphalt at night in the middle of the summer?  Yea, that would be far greater than any CO2.

Another one would be black tar roofing...  Black tar holds and retains far more heat, yet again that CO2 ever could...  See, CO2 cools at night but roads, roofs and other objects such as air conditioning and buildings retain much more heat than CO2.

Finally, the desert...  Why don't we get rid of all the sand in the desert, because it retains a whole lot of heat, especially in the summer.  I think that when the CO2 cools at night, the sand stays warm for a much longer time than CO2 could ever retain.

Geez, there are so many common sense answers against CO2 being a greenhouse gas.  But, we are not about common sense here...  We are about a new religion being led by none other than Al Gore....

Then stop using computers...  That would be just fine...  It is full of lies anyway...

  10. No. Global warming is caused by a build-up of greenhouse gases such as :(a) carbon dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants, cars, trucks, airplanes, industries (stack emissions) (b) methane (c) water vapor , and (d) nitrous oxide.

This buildup is also due to other contributors such as deforestation (less absorption of CO2) and melting permafrost (release of gases).

AC is only part of the problem that results in the emissions from the power plants.  It also includes electricity costs, heating costs, water heater costs... (practically all energy uses).
