  1. in a nutshell......YES

anybody who thinks otherwise, obviously doesnt/hasnt played before.

  2. Yea maby behind netball

I was watching the AFL 2day and some dude was running with the ball and he palmed off some old m8 in the shoulder behind him because he was running after him, Greg Inglis eat your heart out, it was a mad plam but unfortuntly it was a penlty 4 rough play or some stupid s**+.t.

U just touch any body shoulder hight or higher or do a soft takle from behind it is always a penlity always.

If i want a laugh i just turn on the AFL, it cracks me up every time, and it makes it even funnier how u mexicans claim it has the toughest sport in the world

    AFL TOUGHNES FACTOR - 2

    NRL TOUGHNES FACTOR  - 10

  3. 3rd behind ice hockey and union I reckon.

  4. I must say i totally disagree that AFL is the toughest sport in the world . I played Aussie rules for 15 years and have been playing American football for 2 years and must say there is no comparison . 1 - NFL , 2- NRL , 3 - rugby union , 4 - Ice Hockey , 5 - AFL . Also i agree with some other blogs that AFL was much harder 20 years ago , now its to soft with so many soft free kicks it is becoming more like soccer . Give me a real  mans game any day .

  5. not when there's boxing and those games,  but surely the BEST game in the world, especially to watch

  6. rugby seems pretty tough by they have mostly Neanderthal type prehistoric players afl has the more intellectual type of person such as fev lol

  7. in the 80 and 90's it was way way better more risk more bumps and the umpires weren't wankers saying free kick push in the back 10 secounds gon i hate umpires.

  8. It is the sport in which there are the most injuries or one of the highest anyway so yes it is the toughest game in the world

  9. Most AFL players run a half marathon while trying to mark, kick, handball, tackle & score. The tackles can come from any direction and not just in front where players are trained to brace for it.

Perhaps not the 'toughest' sport but NRL fans call that soft?

Worry about your own game and when you can draw 6 million to your matches we can have this debate again.

Bums on seats = which is the #1 game in Australia.

Get over your xenophobia and go troll on a dedicated site rather than an answers forum.

  10. it was a tougher game back then, but nowadays the game has gone soft. long gone are the good old days where u could give a person a wack behind play and not get into trouble. but because there is so many cameras covering the game, any time u do get a bit physical, its caught on tape.

  11. Ice Hockey, AFL, then Gladiators

  12. I would'nt say 1st, but maybe 3rd or 4th.

  13. lol um even if you f**s did throw a punch not a scratch that still doesn't make up for not aloud to use your shoulders to tackle.. use fling each other to the ground by ur g*y lil singlets & jump on each others backs.. the send off rule was enforced to try limit all the fights that went on back in the day... use have no guts.. its such a girly fancy sport its not 1 bit physical haha how embarrassingggg

  14. It definitely has the best combination of toughness, pace, skill and tactics

  15. What makes AFL weak is the unlimited substitutions. As soon as any player gets tired they can just run off and take a rest, Its stupid. Plus they only play 22 games in a season and one game a week. Although AFL is a very physical game, only playing 22 games a season and being allowed to come on and off the bench as you many times as you want makes it alot easier on the players. Maybe too easy in my opinion. I know soccer is nowhere as tough of a sport but atleast almost all starting line-up players are on the pitch the entire game and they play over 50 games a season.

I reckon Rugby Union is the toughest sport, you always have to keep running you can't just stand around like in AFL (when the balls is at the other end) plus the scrums are pretty full on, people stamping on each other. Scrums is what makes Union kill League. League is stupid, whats the point of having a scrum when you don't contest it.

  16. It's a toss up between AFL and naked jelly wrestling haha :P

  17. Id say on even par with hurling.  The guys dont wear padding either and some dont wear a helmet.  Those guys get wacked by wooden sticks and smashed by a hurling ball which is nearly as hard as a cricket ball.  When they swing that hurling stick they aint looking at whose around they just aim at the ball and swing, so if you happen to be in the way....... to bad!! I feel sorry for the goalie!! He got no padding either!!  Crazy Irish... :)

  18. i would say nfl

  19. And no padding (American Footy) and noone tapes on their ears! I often wonder how it feels trying to get up off the ground after having many (not real small) people flatten you!!

Mind you, after watching the replay the other day of hawthorn/geelong grandfinal ('89 I think), it was definitely a tougher game back then.
