My wife had lasik done three years ago for her astigmatism. She now needs glasses again and is faced with the choice of having AK surgery. Is this a wise decision or is the risk of two surgeries too much?

  1. If your wife's spherical equivalent prescription is close to plano then AK could be an excellent choice.  It would take alot of time to explain what spherical equivalent means but if your wife's surgeon has recommended AK then probably this is the case.  As far as risk goes, this surgery is a relatively simple, quick, and effective way of sharpening vision when astigmatism has returned after LASIK.  Low risk.

  2. She actually cna try epi-lasik. It is a much more better method  of correction after doing lasik. If the doc says that she is ok for that, then shd be ok
