Question:

Is AKT- 4 causing my mouth ulcers?

Can anyone taking AKT-4 drugs share their experience with me? I am taking AKT-4 for Genito-urinary TB. It is HORRIBLE!

I have mouth ulcers, rashes on my neck and chest, ear pain, dry eyes, and stomach upset even after a month of taking it.

What do I do? I am taking BECOSULES, but not much relief. Will these side effects settle down?

  1. Well dear, you are taking a four drug combination and its a little tough on GI, Liver etc etc and I am sure that makes you sad. But what should make you happy is that you were diagnosed on time and you are getting the right treatment.

Side effects like these are common with this regimen and you should continue multivitamins (Becosules etc), drink lots and lots of water to flush the drug out of your body, drink lots and lots of fruit juices ( Very Effective in multiple ways)

You have to withstand these for sometime and then these side effects MAY wane away. And maybe later, after a few months a coupole of drugs of the 4 you are taking may be discontinued.

PLEASE KEEP YOUR DOCTOR IN LOOP FOR ANY SIDE EFFECTS IMMEDIATELY. YOU MAY FIND THEM INSIGNIFICANT BUT STILL SHARE WITH THE DOC.DO LFT ( Liver Function Test) REGULARLY.
