  1. East to west is an overnight ride, and I suspect the same west to east, so while it is possible to make stops, the area you will be travelling through (I believe its the Cardinal), is lower west virginia and not a lot of passenger traffic comes from there.

Flag stops at best is my answer to you.

  2. It will definitely make multiple stops along the way...you'll may even have to transfer trains.

  3. Sometimes it does seem like a continuous journey.  A seemingly, long, long, protracted practical joke, an eternal journey that seems feasible, as you realize, "My God.  What if I can't ever get off this train?"

But, Nah.  They stop all over the place, usually when you'd rather be moving.

  4. i'm sure you'll make plenty of stops, not familiar with the territory you'll be traveling thru but the good news is, most passenger trains are the hottest things on the rail.  passenger trains are given priority over freight trains, meaning if a freight train is coming or in front of you, they'll be pulling in a siding watching you pass by and passenger trains can travel up to 70 mph and most usually do

  5. well a train will make other station stops, and sometimes you can get off the train to stretch your legs or take smoking break

but the nice thing about the train is you can relax and watch the scenery as you pass
