  1. I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I have just upgraded to AVG free 8.0 and all seems good so far. Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from http://www.download.com/ I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps

  2. yes. It's reliable and It's safe. it removes all the cookies in your computer. But Ad-Aware is also safe too.

  3. Yes, but I think Avira, Antivir is better and it's free.

  4. It may be safe but it is not always reliable. All you have too do is read all the peoples problems with AVG on yahoo answers almost every day to see that it is not always reliable. There are better free anti virus programs that offer free support other then AVG.

  5. depends..no matter which anti-virus you use, if it's free then its not going to do you any good. if you want an anti-virus then i would probably recommend Avira. i personally use it now, beore i used to have AVG. it wasn't much of a help.

  6. no, because it doesn't remove all viruses...

better try avast home edtion, 4.8, its free.. just register in the site, so they will send to you the code for the program..

  7. Yes, i have 8.0 pro. it is great. i recommend it for any one with a computer.

  8. No where as good as these two free ones.

Avira free version from Germany has a higher rate of detection the Kaspersky Russia that you must pay for.

Avast free for home personal use has a background scanner, root kit detector and daily auto. updates.

  9. the free version is not good at all. the retail one is ok at max. but honestly why would u want avg when u have kaspersky, bitdefender and norton. its firewall sucks. it detects only 86 percent of the viruses as per the new reports and its updates are very erratic and inconsistent. all in all a money waste!!!
