I downloaded it and I just want to know what everyone else thinks of it. Does it catch a lot of things? Is it slow?

  1. I use it on my home system and when working on anyone else's system we normally replace the big brand names with AVG.  Here are the main reason why.

    1. Free - including all updates and signatures

    2. Not a process hog.  Symantec is known for slowing systems down.

    3. New version catches both virus and spyware.

    4. Not as well known as others.  This is good because when virus and spyware programmers test their software to bypass antivirus tools, they test it on Symantec, McAfee, etc.  So with AVG you have a better chance of not being infected.

  2. for free, its not bad at all !!!

  3. its alright since its free but from experience i suggest bitdefender total security 2009 it blocks almost all attacks

  4. I use the free version, it's pretty decent. Everything is automatic, so most of the time I don't even pay attention to it. Didn't slow down my computer at all. A couple times I've used trial versions of other anti virus and stuff like that, they never caught anything that AVG hadn't caught.

    So yeah, I like it.
