Is abortion the most important issue in this election? Some might say from looking at Yahoo! Answers it's the only issue.

  1. There are a lot of other issues that should be more important when considering electing a president.

  2. If I were American, the most important election issue for me would be the economy, the "pretend" war, crime, health care reform, etc.  Abortion is so far down the list in terms of what needs to be immediately addressed..

  3. look at these earmarks from both candidates

http://disgruntledtruckdriver.typepad.co... I think abortion is the least of our worries.

  4. its not the biggest issue, but let me say i don't like baby killers

  5. No

Patriotism is the most important issue

  6. No. As a matter of fact, it's not an issue at all.

  7. Abortion is a natural right that cannot be taken away by any government and is therefore a target of those who wish to strip us of our rights. Normally, I would not let the abortion issue dictate my vote, however, this year may be different. I am waiting to see if Palin is one of the nut-cake pro lifers that refuse to see that there are valid reasons for abortion. If she is pro life, so be it, but if she is pro life with the intent of taking away the rights of those that disagree with her, that is another issue. I will fight against her possible election if she even hints that she will appoint justices that will take away our constitutional rights. If she has so little regard for our constitutional rights, I will actively try to help defeat her, or at least lower her winning margin.

  8. Not for me, the economy is the biggest issue for me. Abortion is a wedge issue that split the parties. The key to less abortions is a stable economy over the long run not just three months before a election.

  9. No.  Nothing is ever done about abortion.  It just becomes a hot topic during presidential election years as each side uses it to prove how the other side is full of idiots.

  10. Good lord no.  Nobody (even the eeeeevil Republicans) is talking about going after Roe v Wade. Just another juvenile lib scare tactic.

Wake up. Wake up. Wake up.

  11. Not the MOST important issue but its important because one of the candidates has specifically said he wants to over turn Roe v Wade in an effort to ban abortion. McCain wants to appoint very conservative justices to meet that goal.  The next president will likely appoint 3 justices.  That would make the difference.

  12. To me?  Yes.  Considering Obama doesn't know when life begins and voted to kill babies who survive an abortion...

  13. Yes, because the President appoints Supreme Court Justices.  Not because polticians will do anything about abortion.

  14. Life is.

Even potential ones, if you believe that life does not being when sperm meets egg and a baby starts to form.

When the seed sprouts, it's a plant.

What do you have if not a life? Any human rights proponent should agree with that.

  15. No abortions is not the most important issue, but it is a very important one.  If a candidate believes in abortion, chances are that they aren't going to share many of my values. I can't support someone who goes against the things I find important.

  16. The cons want it to be, because they aren't running on anything.

  17. I think so.

Anytime innocent life is needlessly taken it's an issue.

  18. I just wanted to respond to BillyTheKid...your analogy doesn't make any sense!

You could take the "hypothetical" puppies to the humane society and they could euthanize them for you! Then they would tell you that you need to spade/neuter your pet if you don't want anymore puppies.

HOWEVER our government doesn't permit public schools to teach about birth control or protection...unlike the humane society that will encourages spading and neutering in order to prevent pregnancy.

  19. Abortion is murder, if you don't respect the life of helpless little babies what do you respect?
