Einstein didnt even come close as the smartest person ever. Anyway,it depends on what you consider the smartest.Many will say Stephen Hawkins is the smartest but there are plenty people with higher i.q's than him.The smartest person to have ever lived was William Sidis.Nobody else even came close.

Marilyn vos Savant is possibly the smartest person alive but her i.q scores have always been questioned for one reason or another.Her i.q is likely a tad bit over 200.

by the way,james woods(the actor)has an estimated i.q of 180.If true,that makes him one of the smartest people ever.If you go by i.q scores.

Having a high i.q is nice but many people with high i.q's dont contribute to the world like you would think.Many people agree that Einstein was never a "true" genius,(he never had an i.q test)just at math. He had an imagination that never stopped though.He gave much to the world through his gift of math.Thats the difference between him and many geniuses throughout history.

Albert Einstein was said to be one of, if not, the smartest person on the earth. But then again there are some exceptions such as Sir Isaac Newton.

Most people would say yes, so i guess so, BIll gates is considered to be the second at the moment right after Steven Hawkings.

there  is  a difference  between  raw  intelligence  based  on the IQ numbers, and  gifted  insight that  many seemingly ordinary  people  can have. einstein was a file clerk at  a patent  office.  he is estimated to have  had  an iq of 160ish

while  he  would  easily  qualify  for  mensa   which needs  only an IQ of  132  (98th  percentile) in IQ, there  are  societies that require  no less than  the  top .0000001 or  99.999999 percentile  or  196 IQ

At this present technology, no . .Albert Einstein's exposure with different physicists at his time encouraged him to study and explore more. The human brain only uses a portion of its gray matter normally, Albert Einstein was able to utilized a large portion of his brain's gray matter through consistent studying and strict observationsn on different quantum theories.
