  1. yes it is a disease.  research it.

  2. yes, of course, alcohol is known to be bad to one's health.

  3. No, that's just an excuse somebody made up for their bad choices!

  4. no not a disease

    its an addiction

its not something people are born with, or caught or there body caused it themself

the persons mind made them addicted to it.

  5. I agree. Several of my family members have this problem.

  6. yes

  7. I've always heard that alcoholism is a disease. I always wonder why so many people chose to have the disease. To me a disease is something that takes over without your help. Alcoholics chose to drink.

  8. It certainly IS a disease and if you go back through an alcoholics family tree, you will be sure to find many other alcoholics somewhere down the line. It's not all about making 'choices', as one person said. You can bet that the person who picked up the first drink didn't say, ' I better not drink this, because I will be an alcoholic", no, it's because his addictive personality, which runs in the family, won;t let him stop until he's inebriated.

  9. Yes and because what I have seen.

  10. yes, because people who have it don't want to have it.  they wish they didn't.  addiction of any sort is a disease - addicts don't want to be addicted.  they wish they could stop.  that's why i see it as a disease.  because they can't choose to not have it.  just like cancer victims etc.

  11. It's an addiction, a habit, but not a disease.
