  4. In my opinion, Alexander the Great is a hero. If he were a villain, would that make every other military leader a villain as well? Alex also primited learning and spread the greek culture

  5. I think he's a hero because he's a villain.

    I think he's a villain because he's a hero.

  6. Villian

  7. Alexander is a villain! He failed to uphold the duties of a ruler. He left his people to set out on a millitary campaign and never returned. He left his people in the hands of millitary leaders who abused their power and rarely answered the people's needs.

  8. Alexander the Great is gallant and brave and bold which are the characteristics of a hero. He did not mean harm he just wanted to unify Greece and bring them together. His army is strong has a lot of recruits and is convincing they made peace and grew mighty.
A lot of people say he is a villain because he slayed a lot of people when he was only hoping to unify Greece and he also always sent a messenger to ask for peace but in Thebes they called him a tyrant of Greece when he was just bringing peace to Greece. They will also say he has too strong of an army! My answer to that is he only has a big army that he had was because he made peace and unified with other city states and provinces if Thebes had made peace they could be part of that huge army of Alexander The Greats. Alex unified Greece when he put down the rebellion in the city-state Thebes which he showed compassion to.

  9. he is a hero he added military tactics and he only hurt people if they did not surrender

  10. Alexander is a hero because he brought a whole new idea to military tactics. Alexander brought stability and power to the lands he controlled. He brought a Western style to all the Eastern lands as well as the Southern. Alexander represented a democratic style that was unknown to everyone else in the past. Just like everyone however, Alexander did have some negatives. He became power hungry and took it to far, which made his men rebellious against him. If he would have backed off a bit and let his men rest most likely the men would have no problem following him. The point is proven that when he did die, the whole Greek territory fell.

  11. Alexander was nor a hero or villain, he did what was right for him, and his tribe, not for others. he was a hero to his people, and a villain to others.

  12. Alexander the Great is a villian

  13. Alexander the Great is a villan in my opinion.  He slaughtered hundreds of thousands of men.  He conquered more lands than the entire United States and was very proud of it.  He went into battles drunk which led to the death of many of his souldiors.  If he did not get his way, he burned down whatever did not give him his way.

  14. Alexander's military accomplishments were due to the powerful military force his father, King Philip II, left him. Ruthless and cruel, he had a fierce temper and mistreated his own loyal advisor and soldiers. In Thebes Alexander brutally put down the attempt of the people of Thebes to declare their independence. His forces killed 6,000 Thebans, sold more than 20,000 into slavery, and destroyed virtually the entire city. In Egypt Alexander only founded the site for the city of Alexandria, and played no role in the city's growth. The emphasis on Greek culture and scholarship excluded the Egyptians from any key role in the city's development. In Persia Alexander's military campaign against Persia was brutal and relentless, without regard for the casualties of either the Persians or his own troops. He plundered the riches of Persepolis, Persian's great capital, and burned it to the ground, destroying center of Persian culture. In India Alexander's forces spent three years in India ruthlessly putting down any resistance, slaughtering males and selling females and children into slavery. His campaigns into deepest India, despite horrible weather conditions, finally caused his own troops to demand that he turn around and return home. . so as you can see my alexander the great was a villain and will always be a villian.

•His own soldiers rebelled against him after so many years of fighting.

•He died on his return to Greece and did not name an heir to take over his empire.

•The land was divided into 3 regions and the empire crumbled.

•Alexander was told by his mother that he was destined for greatness and that his father was really Zeus.

•If any of his men defied him, Alexander often had terrible outbursts of anger and was brutal.

•Alexander also drank excessive amounts of alcohol causing him to make poor decisions.

•According to some historians, Alexander was only successful because his father left him a huge, well-trained army.

•Alexander neglected his own home of Macedonia while he pursued his conquests. The people of Macedonia suffered and there needs were neglected.

•Alexander suffered emotional outbursts because he was raised by a crazy mother.
