Is Alfred University in Ny state a big party school?

are there alot of parties there? because it is kind of in the middle of nowhere

Yes it has that reputation.  You are right, it is in the middle of nowhere.  Nothing else to do!  A good friend went there, and doesn't remember much as she was always partying.

My brother went there and i stayed in his dorm for a weekend (because they have a program called sibling's weekend). and, yes, they did have parties. but the they also got a great education.

it is in the middle of nowhere, but i loved walking down town to all the little shops and restaurants!  i enjoyed it, even the parties!
