  1. Not really...it's a bit hard later in the year when you apply shapes and start getting into more geometry-type stuff. Don't be worried though :)

I'm going to algebra 2 this year, most of my friends took it last year in 9th grade like you will be doing and it looked kind of hard. Darn...I forgot all my geometry...

  2. NOT AT ALL!  Don't worry about it!

  3. pre algebra and algebra are pretty much the same. you will do fine if you know basic math like multiplying and the rules and stuff. its really easy, trust me, been there done that.

  4. Pre-Algebra is easier then Algebra 1 and is what you need to know to be able to do it well and get through the course. So learn it well enough that you get through it the first time.

Simply put the higher you move up in mathematics the more abstract it get

    Algebra 1

    Algerbra 2

    Geometry

    Trigonometry

    Calculusls

  5. no it's not. pre-algebra definitely gets you ready for it so you have nothing to worry about. but you have to stay on top of homework and study for tests and stuff.

  6. No. It's just a lot more concepts. Pre- Algebra concepts are the building blocks of Algebra concepts, so if you understood P.A. you'll get Algebra.

  7. i dont no im going to 7th too lol

  8. Yes, it is, because Algebra tends to cover a lot more topics.  Not only that, but a lot of the learning is cumulative: what you learn in one week is something you'll have to carry over and apply to what you learn next week.

Though if you can manage to complete Algebra before you get into high school, I think you'll be better off.  You'll be one year ahead of most of the other students, which means you may end up taking less math in high school, or (as I did) end up taking calculus in your senior year of high school, which lets you skip ahead of some of the college math classes.

  9. ill be complettely honest. i went to 8th grade for algebra and i had to retake it freshman year.

if u pay attention and do the work it will be easy..i just quit on my teacehr because she quit on me.

  10. Well Pre-Algebra is the class before Algebra. You are taught the skills that will be used in Algebra I. (Algebra I skills are used in Geometry and Algebra II)

You should not be worried because Algebra I is just a bit more complex than Pre-Algebra. If you did well in Pre-Algebra you should do fine in Algebra I. Make sure you ask for help if you need it and pay attention. Those who are willing to learn can accomplish anything.

Before I took Algebra 2, I thought I would have a difficult time understanding it, but turns out it's not hard at all; just ask help when needed and pay attention. Plus, take good notes.

  11. You know i was never really good at math and i always worried just as you are. But i dont think algebra is much harder. Pre algebra basically sets you up for the real thing so if you did good i believe you should be ok.

  12. It depends. I started out in Algebra in 7th grade too - && I majorly sucked...So I moved to Pre-Algebra which was WAY easier for me...I guess it all depends on whether or not you are good at math - give it a try first you never know, && you can always transfer out.[:
