  11. The name "Alina" is used by some Arabs but isn't a common one. The name is mostly an eastern European one meaning: bright, beautiful. This name, when used in Arabic, means noble. But I believe it is borrowed from the Latin, German, and Slavic languages meaning 'noble' as well. So, I wouldn't say that it originated from Arabic, but from Eastern European languages. If it were, you would see many Arabs with that name and most will acknowledge the name being of Arabic origin.

As for the feminine form of Ali, there isn't one. There is however a feminine form of the name Aali (high, exalted): Aaliyah - beginning with the letter Ain. If you were to use the name Alina (borrowed from another language), it would be Ali-na and not Aalina (meaning: on us, on top of us, over us).

Again, I doubt it is originally Arabic. If I were to look at all of the synonyms to the translations of "noble" in Arabic, I wouldn't find Alina or even a root word related to it, so I'm sure it's a borrowed name. Hope this answered your question =]
