Is Alpaca meat edible?

How do you cook alpaca meat? I know you can eat sheep, but what about alpaca?

I can't help wondering why someone would think alpaca meat might not be edible.

Too cute?  Should we select our food based on how 'ugly' we think the animal

is?  Two or three generations ago, Americans ate a much wider variety of meats,

and ate organs, not just muscle meat.  And it was ALL 'organic',  including grains

and vegatables.
