Is Alton Towers generally very busy on a bank holiday?

Thinking of going on the Sat / Sun of the first bank holiday in May but I don't want to spend the whole time waiting in a line!

Well, I'd reccommend going on a weekend. Bank Holidays aren't as bad as most people asre making them seem. Yes, the queues are quite long but generally only 30-45 minutes. But at the weekends queues are a lot, LOT shorter.

I live about 15 minutes away, so I kind of go pretty often... proud Annual Pass holder!

Yes it's quite busy when I went their I only when on 2 rides! The queue are very long.

Yes, it's packed. 1 - 2 hour queues for the most popular rides are commomplace.

Alton Towers will be very busy on a bank holiday !

Unless you spend extra money to buy fast track passes, I can't remember exactly how much they cost but they allowed you to que in a separate line which only paying customers entered. The ques went allot quicker! The pass did not work for all rides but was available for the most popular eg. oblivion, air and nemesis.

Yeah its crazy, As a school we go there on the Friday of that holiday I'm sure and its busy then!  If you are still planning to go, I'd get fast track tickets, or go early. Hope i was helpful.

Well to be honest I went to Alton Towers when it was half term and it wasnt that bad at all.  I guess it was better coz my husband wouldnt go on some of the rides like Rita so I went in the single person queue which was much quicker.   I think it is fairly busy all of the time.  Probably Sat and Sun are going to be a bit worse.  Its all part of the experience though .. lol.
