Question:

Is Ambien ok to use during all 40 weeks of Pregnancy?

Iv been on Ambien for 9 years and iv never been off of it. My doctor tells me because i have been on it so long trying to go off of it now could cause early labor and other problems. even though he says it ok to take the whole pregnancy im stilled worryed and i want to know every thing i can on the subject. if any one knows anything about this subject that could help me please let me know.

  1. If your doctor thinks it's fine, but you are still worried, you should definitely seek 2nd and/or 3rd opinions to put your mind at ease.

    Unfortunately, most of us are not doctors here, and we don't know your medical history, why you need the medication, whether you are high risk...it would be very hard ot say if it is okay for you and the baby to be on this medication during your pregnancy.

Well, your dr i'm sure has looked into this, but i understand still worrying. i was on 1 med for anxiety and  for bipolar the 1st 5 months of pregnancy and even though the dr said it was safer to be on than off them , i still worried. Maybe ask him about weaning off so your not on the WHOLE pregnancy.
