The US dollar has half it's purchaseing power compared to 10 years ago - the drop is against all currencies -

The cost of oil has sky rocketed which suits all those enemies the US has made but strains the general economy and the public

No matter what actions the US takes now economic relief is not on the way for at least another decade or more

The corperate elites which Americans love - are going to need welfare from the tax payer in order to save the nation from homelessness

Banks fail - houses taken - an inability to compete on the international market and a war bill footed by China for the Iraqi occupation equal billions per week

The national debt is over 30,000 per person and that includes children the elderly and everyone in between - and does not include personel debt or State debt

Natural disaster pummel the US and cost billions in dollars and untold human suffering

-------------------

Weren't these the signs that preceeded the Soviet Union fall

  1. Well, as dismal as that all is, it is reminiscent of every generations concern. It always seems bad. The 70s and 80s had horrible problems too. The thing that makes the US so strong and reboundable is it's underlining economy and people. If it came down to brass-tax, we could liquidate enough to pay off everything. Is it then justified that we operate the way we do? No! And I agree with you, it is faulty and walking on thin ice. Other countires have gained strenth in their currencies; housing, inflation, welfare for Wall St. - these are all issues to blamed on the Federal Reserve and Congress's flimsiness in regards to letting it do what it wants. Congressman Ron Paul stated these concerns time and time again but the general population does not understand basic macro theory - nor care to. They don't understand that monetizing debt is the added inflation tax that ruins everything we work hard for and only fills the pockets of the elite in power, mainly the Fed chairs. Them, along with their equivalents in developed countries worldwide, pretty much run the show. Sociological power structure and economic manipulation (swindling basically) is what floods into everything else.

  2. FYI...the rest of the world isn't doing as well as you think.

Europe is doing terrible as far as their economies go...yea sure the Euro is worth 1.5 times the dollar, everything in Europe costs 1.5 times if not more than it does here.  Africa, S. America, and Central America aren't doing so hot.  Asia...even China and Japan's markets are falling because of the rise in gas.  And the Arab countries...read up on how great it is to live in Saudi Arabia...they have the worst inflation rate in the world.  Don't read the news so much and travel around...you'll see the vast majority of people in America aren't doing that bad and a good amount of the ones that are it is their fault.

  3. Two big differences . . . (sorry to disappoint you . . . ) The first being trade . . .  The dollar has caused havoc in the oil markets but are exports are at a twelve year high . . . Two . . . The Soviet Union was never 25% of the world economy . . . never even close . . . so 25% of everything you see . . . cars, profits, toilet paper whatever . . . comes from the U.S. . . . we could loose half of our value and still be the biggest game in town . . .

  4. I don't understand what your question.  America is looking at television.  You should know that!

  5. Not to boast or sound isolationist. I don't personally know a single family that has lost their home, car, or job. In fact most of the people I know are doing great. I have to wonder if a lot of it is overhyped. I mean sure the economy has downturned but it was growing hyperfast for a long time.

  6. It's going to be worse! When the Soviet Union fell we were there to help. When the US falls the vultures will be fighting over who will rule us!

  7. America has been through far worse than this! It is over hyped and overblown nonsense.

If you are waiting for America to fall you will be waiting a long time!!

The soviets collapsed because their system was fatally flawed. The US system is imperfect but time tested and made to last.

  8. Yes you already know we are. Why ask I'm glad my home is paid for and I owe no one money yeah me!

  9. I believe so.  We can no longer pray in schools, but now the former USSR has Bibles in their classrooms!  We did a great job teaching the rest of the world, but not in our own country.
