Is America ready for an openly g*y president?

It seems that we'll have a black president or a female vice-president soon, but I'm wondering if and when we'll have our first openly-g*y president. After all, I'd like to be able to look my son in the eyes and tell him that if he studies hard, he can be president. (He's only 5, but showing tendencies.)

Personally I could care less about them being g*y. But the country as a whole no way. The African American community is the most anti-g*y so Dem's i know would never do it.

there is a problem with the g*y community. There are 2 types of g*y people, there are truly g*y people who are normal people except for the fact that they are g*y. Then there are people that I consider fake g*y people who wear vests and have hairy chests and basically act like they are retarded. I think the real g*y people need to get rid of this imagery and tell the world that they are REAL people and not just some story out of a book. Most people think that g*y people are just perverts who have s*x all the time. That is so very far from the truth, but I can't say that because I'm not g*y. The g*y community has to stand up and say that.
