  1. Poor education

    >>>  Inner-city schools have problems that make the news, but they are absolutely the exception among public schools.  Also, the educational surveys do not include private and parochial schools - which educate a significant percentage of students in the USA.

    Bad health care

    >>>  America has the best health care in the world - it just isn't free for everyone. How to provide good care for the poor is a work in progress, and we hope to avoid creating a system with the deficiencies common to the national health care services in Europe.

    Appalling labor laws

    >>>  It's true I wouldn't mind having a 35 hour work week, 7 weeks of vacation, and the right to strike at the drop of a hat (like the French).  However, that is actually not sustainable and western European countries with those labor practices are having to change.

    Religious conservatism

    >>>  The Left makes a big deal of religion in the USA.  Reality is the Religious Right has very little influence at the national level, and far less influence than wielded by the Marxists in the Democrat Party.

    Collapsing economy

    >>>  Wrong. The current "sky is falling" garbage being pushed by all the networks except FOX is part of their effort to elect a Democrat to the presidency in November. The USA has been in a downward bit of the economic cycle for a while but it's not even in a recession. The most recent economic indicators show a recovery that should be clearer by the fall.

  2. not to mention miley cyrus

  3. No doubt!..

  4. Why is it that most people are completely abliviouse to what our government is doing until something directly affects them. Then they just want to complain. Educate yourself and get involved with the political system and the schools at the local level. Take a pro-active approach rather than a re-active approach. If all of us paid attention to what our representatives were doing all the time then maybe we could change things. But lets face the facts - most of us have the additude that someone else has to fix this mess we are in. Our government has it's place, but honestly they couldn't run a roadside lemonaide stand without s******g it up! Don't expect these same people to get us out of a mess that they created. At the same time - we all sat back and watched. What is worse?

  5. not even close---actually everything about the US is opposite of what you said---

poor education??? who has better , somalia???

bad health care--the health care itself is best in the world, its just not everyone has it--maybe if they got jobs they would

labor laws--like what specifically?? are sweat shops in china better??, when was the last time you saw 10 year olds working 15 hour days in the US

economy--just 'cause gas is high doesnt mean economy is bad...if people can still afford ipods and cell phones we are doin pretty good

    ---you're way off
