Nowadays, we hear people saying that curves are beautiful, that celebrities are too skinny and give people unrealistic standards. I'm 5'3 and 110 pounds which is considered normal here. I went to taiwan and the people there consider me to be very overweight - the girls there are very skinny and they don't put in nearly as much effort to be skinny as Americans. I was watching a show the other day where a bunch of women got in leotards and labeled each other as "hot", "fat slob", "lazy", "s**y"...etc. based on looks. One woman who was like 250 pounds got labeled "hot" by the group which i thought was very odd because that is NOT hot.

  1. Put it this way, people have different tastes no matter what.

  2. Every culture has their own idea of  beauty. And with in each culture the people have their likes and dislikes. Thin is considered ugly and curvy is considered s**y. And too, many people associate overweight with "lazy" ,"slob" and a number of equally disturbing words. The average american woman wears size 12-14. Labeling people for their looks is hurtful.

  3. America is not easy on overweight people. And being skinny and tall is what models are and it is not realisitic unless you drop down to print models which have a more realistic quality.

I am not saying being unhealthy is good but people come in all colors, shapes, and sizes and all I can say for that is people will always see things differently than the next. And many women, including all the women that don't look like models are beautiful. If you dont except them that only makes you look vain and shallow .

  4. I don't know what goes on in America because I live in Canada. I think that America and as well as a lot of other countries give people a little bit of freedom. -- Like taking care of your bodies and stuff. Hmm... besides that, every country is different and every one is different too.

  5. Sadly yes
